Photo Colourisation
Photo Colourisation
Photo colourisation is a great way to bring a photo to life and can really pull on the nostalgia strings. It’s great as a gift to a loved one or friend or as a personal pick me up, particularly of those who are sadly no longer with us. Wether it be colourising a black and white photo or restoring a colour photo that’s faded over time, I can help you.
Photo Colourisation cost can fluctuate a lot depending on the complexity of the scene, prices range from £24 - £60+.
Quotes are free so don’t hesitate to get in touch!
How does it work?
-
Step 1. Find the photo
You’re going through old things and find a whole heap of photos that have seen better days and need a bit of love.
Or, maybe you just find one and you want to restore it to its former glory?
-
Step 2. Send in the photo(s).
You send us the photo(s) by either:
- Scanning them in yourself (see our guide on how to do this).
- Send us the physical copy (if you’re comfortable doing so).
- Drop the photos off in person to Nick Ford Photography, BN1 4LA.
-
Step 3. We edit your photo(s).
We get to work editing your photo(s) and send you updates along the way.
Once revision one is completed, we will send you a side by side comparison of the before and after.
If you’re happy, move on to step 4 - if not, we revise the restoration until you are!
-
Step 4. Reprint or admire digitally.
The fun bit! Once you’re happy with your restoration, we send you a digital copy of both the original and the edited image.
This is when you get to decide if you’d like any reprints for gifts or a frame to hang in your house, the sky is the limit.
-
This restoration is limited to two or fewer figures and doesn’t involve complex pattens. Perfect for solo or couple portraiture.
-
Next step up with a maximum of three people, this time including a few object and the possibility of a more complex background/more complex clothing.
-
Stepping up even further, including up to six people in total. This time with any object including things such as flowers with multiple colours and slightly in front of a more complex background. High resolution and clear image is required.
-
The sky is the limit - no limit to the number of people or objects in the scene. Much more intricate scenes with many details, large-scale group shots from school or military deployment. For this service, in particular, a very high-resolution and clear image is needed prior to work being carried out.
